The Elemenoe Selective Eating program is designed to decrease selective eating, improve family mealtimes and increase the number of foods a child will taste. To do this, our program involves collaboration among a speech-language pathologist (SLP), Board Certified Behaviour Analyst® (BCBA) and supportive personnel who can design specially tailored interventions. Each discipline plays a distinct invaluable role in the assessment and treatment process.
Our program is designed for children who:
• Are selective eaters
• Exhibit packing
• Have difficulty chewing
• Exhibit liquid avoidance
• Have choking phobias
• Struggle with rapid eating
• Experience dysphagia (difficulty swallowing)
• Exhibit tongue thrusts
• Need assistance self-feeding
How It Works
-

      • We begin with a review of medical history/determine that medical issues have been ruled out. We then determine if there are any chronic issues that need consideration or require additional professionals.
 • Determine the goals of our intervention and whether behavioural strategies or child-led strategies should be implemented.
 • Conduct an oral-motor pre-screening.
-

      • You fill out and complete our questionnaire.
 • Our BCBA® and SLP professionals have individual interviews with you and observe feeding with your child.
-

      • Combining the efforts of our SLP and BCBA® professionals we develop a protocol and training procedures.
 • We then assist you in learning how to utilize these protocols to achieve your particular goals with your child.
